Let’s face it, 2020 wasn’t quite what any of us were expecting.  It started with rumblings of an impending pandemic that many of us considered background noise as we robustly charged into the new year filled with new goals and resolutions.  By March, many of my colleagues, including myself, were in full swing helping sellers prepare to list their homes in the spring.  The market was ripe with buyers and 2020 promised to be a very busy year.

Then, life took an unexpected turn starting with a pandemic that brought the city to a standstill. Suddenly, contracts were being cancelled and sellers were perplexed as to what to do next.  Buyers, dreading uncertainty, were pulling away.  But eventually, the country started opening again and the wheels of commerce slowly resumed – buyer confidence appeared to rebound, but the inventory stayed low as sellers seemed reluctant to move on.

In spite of a reviving commerce, the pandemic continues to threaten us all and economic forecasts seem uncertain as unemployment rises, restaurants close and entertainment venues stay shuttered.  And when you mix in politics, protests and heated discourse, it’s enough to make a girl want to close all the shades, wrap herself in her favorite blanket and nurse a pitcher of cosmos.

Not this Girl.

I’ve been through enough rodeos to know that everything in life is temporary.  Good times and bad. And sometimes you have to look the scary forces around you square in the face, step out of your comfort zone, and live your life.  At least, that’s how I see it.

This is the year - and this is the time - for me to be bold and embrace the changes in my life I want to make. I crave fun and a little whimsy right now as I seek creative ways to grow my business.  That happens to translate into purchasing a sports car, a Porsche Boxster to be exact, and daring to decal it to help promote my brand.  Not to put too fine a point on it, I chose red.  Because, why not?

My mission is my message.  Don’t allow the circumstances of these events to force you to shrink your comfort zone.  Push out those boundaries, take some risks and expand your horizons.  Embrace the events, face the scary forces and press on.  Paint that room pink! Plant that mimosa tree! Buy that fancy car! Remodel that kitchen! Build that dream house!  Live your dream. B3 BOLD!
